The Canada/Israel Autism Research Initiative

The Canada/Israel Autism Research Initiative is a project founded by Connie Putterman. In 2010, Connie met Dr. Michal Begin, an Israeli research fellow working in Toronto. Both knew, from personal and professional experience that Canada and Israel would both benefit from proactively connecting autism researchers.

Benefits of Canadian/Israeli collaborations in autism research

Connie and Dr. Begin believed that the benefits to the researchers from both countries could be exponential with each group collectively offering skills expertise and models of collaboration that would advance the science of autism. Further opportunities include

  • providing new collaborative models for research
  • offering world-class research in autism
  • offering access to new populations for research
